Chalk lettering is a fun way to express your love for letterforms. Spice up your old grocery chalkboard or even for your event signage! Join me in exploring the basics of chalk lettering or simply to brush up your chalk art skills!
This class will guide you to gain confidence in creating your own chalkboard lettering. While a basic hand-lettering background will be helpful, there is no doubt that this is beginner-friendly (no chalkboard experience is required!) And, you get to have your own A3-sized chalkboard to bring home and practice on!
This class will cover:
Different materials for chalk lettering
Care for your tools and chalkboard
Preparing the board
Transferring a sketch to the board
Tips on making your work stand out
Lettering on chalkboards serves various purposes. For this workshop, we will be focusing on some drawing basics and writing a featured quote on the board for display in your own favorite space. There will be a couple of prescribed quotes to choose from during the workshop so we can focus on learning the techniques and the drawing process.
You get to take home the following:
A good understanding on how to make your own hand-lettering using traditional chalk
An A3-sized (297 × 420 mm) handcrafted chalkboard (real wood!)
Pencil and printer paper for sketches
